POPPY PODS FOR DUMMIES

Can you truly consume a poppy pod like an apple? I expected them being like pods, with seeds in them. Not strong or vegetable like.I felt it required to write-up simply because I could not find what I was trying to find in obvious Slash conditions. (Which I've appear to understand can generally indicate "I'm not looking at what I Desire to see.") B
